B&A: 1890s Bathroom Gets A Refreshing DIY Renovation
BEFORE & AFTER
VIA I SPY DIY
This jaw-dropping bathroom makeover is by Jenni of I Spy DIY from the fall ‘19 ORC event. It’s hard to believe this is the same bathroom she began with, let alone that the entire project was DIY by Jenni and her husband.
Jenni and her husband were in the process of renovating an 1890s duplex, and decided to jump in the ORC with the bathroom. Absolutely everything had to be gutted, because besides being run down and generally very beige, there were safety concerns that needed fixing.

First things first—the tub under that big, beautiful window looks absolutely incredible and so luxurious. The marble tile, installed beautifully by Jenni’s husband in a chevron pattern, adds to the luxurious feel.
What truly makes the space, though, is the beautiful blue beadboard paired with the botanical wallpaper. The wallpaper was designed by Jenni herself, with selections from her collection of antique botany books.

The finished bathroom is such a wonderful mix of old and new, which is perfect for the renovated 1890s duplex. It feels historic and fresh at the same time.
Jenni gave this bathroom new life, and she should be incredibly proud.

A lot of the info online about curb appeal is specifically for people getting ready to sell their homes, which isn’t necessarily helpful if you want to spruce up your house’s exterior just for your own enjoyment of your home. There are plenty of smaller tweaks you can make that will make a surprising difference to your home’s facade.
